circa 1840, with rounded 6in. barrels formed from one piece and carved with central 'ribs', scroll engraving to the flat sighting plane at breech, bead fore-sight and standing notch rear-sight, border and scroll engraved top-tang, border and scroll engraved boxlock action with radiused edges and asymmetric side-hammers, strongly curved finely chequered walnut pistol-grip butt with central iron trapdoor to the domed butt-cap, engraved clipped corner rectangular escutcheon to wrist, guarded trigger and captive iron ramrod mounted to the underside of barrels
